Not very reliable. Everyone can go on and change the information.

Wikipedia is relatively reliable. It has many useful information.

Although it is possible that information on Wikipedia may be incorrect since virtually anyone can edit the pages (thus the term "wiki").

If you're doing research, make sure to double check on other sites! That's the safest way. Don't rely on a single source.

Wikipedia, reliability and credibility should never ever be used in the same sentence. Anyone can add information to the site whether it is correct or incorrect.

I wouldn't trust it 100%, but i do think that it is an excellent starting point. Aside from anything else, it may help you to find other references.

In addition it is moderated, and answers checked for authenticity. This was after former journalist John Seigenthaler sued, after false information was put on the site.

I know also that it is checked, as my boyfriend decided to see if he could be funny and put some stupid answers in.

It initally went up, but was soon removed, and the nest time I logged in using that computer there was a message saying there was a 'playspace' for that sort of thing.

So there is some measure of control, but opinion may be disguised as fact.

Don't rely on Wikipedia. It is one of the worst places you can go for information- people can go and change whatever they want. One time, I was looking at an article about a disney channel show, and it said "The characters are often seen wearing nothing at all" that is so fake!

on wikipedia, anyone can add info to an article. It doesn't matter if their info is true or not, anyone can add it. This makes the site a bit unreliable. You have to take that into consideration. Overall, I'd say it is reliable but I wouldn't use it for an academic paper either.

It can be reliable. Many times, if you find a fact on Wikipedia that you have concerns regarding its credibility, check it out somewhere else. Most times you'll find your backup source matches...

i wouldn't base any facts off of wikipedia only. Anyone can go in and edit whatever they want!

well you should never cite it in a piece of academic work!
