not everyone can post....and that is checked by the editors before posting. and they have also changed their policy. you can trust wikipedia

It is reliable. The information MAY be a bit off, but it's still accurate, because if someone posts something stupid, it usually gets edited. The information there is basically a bunch of websites put together, like if you look up a movie for example, 99% of the time, the info about the movie is taken from other websites such as IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.

Anybody can post on Wikipedia, but anyone who spams can get banned from posting, and people usually keep it good. In a study, Wikipedia and Encyclopedia Britanica had about the same number of major errors per article.

encarta encyclopedia is a great encyclopedia!

It is true that anybody can post on Wikipedia but you can normally tell whether the information is correct or not. Still, I'm not a big fan of Wikipedia after it got all my facts wrong in a report I wrote using it as my main source.

Bookyards has a list of over 70 free online encycloepdias at http://www.bookyards.com/search_results.html?type=links&test=38295&category_id=681&caching=update

Most are very reliable.....or you can compare one with the others on any subject matter that you may be interested in, and choose the best.

Wikipedia does have a lot of information but anyone can edit the page and place any kind of information they want to. It is monitored once every few days but its safer to use other sources. You don't want to get the wrong kind of information
